2410 - Cooper's Old Dark Ale

Intro

Back into brewing with this kit, fairly straightforward, just needed some additional fermentables.

The Brew

The Kit — Additional fermentables which should add a little more body

I decided to mix mix the wort and malt with water in the boiler and boil brieifly, to ensure that everything was sterilised.

Yeast — The kit yeast, not brillant but adequate for a quick brew

Wort cooling — Waiting for the wort to cool,
not exactly a crash-cooling.

Starter — Meanwhile a yeast starter from some of the wort and the supplied yeast.

Wort too cool — Cooled too far overnight

Fermenting — Up to temperature and fermenting quite happily
